Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Directors of Research Portfolio and Operations the Research Assistant I is responsible for assisting with conducting research studies and manages assigned projects.
This position is responsible for monitoring collaborative spinal cord injury (SCI) and brain injury (BI) research with other centers.
The Research Assistant I will assist the research team in conducting all research activities that occur at Craig Hospital.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure/Certification/Registrations:
None Education:
Associate degree required, BA/BS in biology or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clinical and/or medical research preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent organization and customer service skills.
Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines.
Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel.
Advanced team-building, conflict resolution, and communication skills, both verbal and written required.
Work collaboratively with other departments and physicians.
Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability and strong attention to detail, both mechanically and technically.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
Possess above average problem-solving skills, judgment and flexibility.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.

Essential Functions:
Implements assigned research tasks, interpreting study protocols as needed with supervision from more senior research assistants.
Monitor data collection for quality control on assigned projects.
Assume responsibility for coding, data entry, and correction of data in computer database system.
Manage project follow-up to ensure continued data collection from study participants.
Provide computer reports summarizing study status when requested.
Organize studies to provide immediate information on criteria, deadlines, contact person, and progress to research staff members.
Identify research issues requiring project team resolution.
Assist with collaborative research studies with other facilities.
Manage record review, data entry, word processing, and data analysis.
Abstract medical records for data collection and analysis.
Expected to assist in multi-center research projects.
Complete writing assignments for research reports, abstracts, and articles.
Communicates research progress with project and management staff.

Craig Hospital Research Schedule:
Full Time, Days, Monday through Friday.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
