TITLE:
Network Engineer III, Core OpticalLOCATION:

Summary:
Maintain the optical transport network via planned projects, maintenances, as well as troubleshoot break/fix issues that occur.
Perform network monitoring using various vendor management tools, such as, Nokia NFM-T, Cisco and CTC, document alarms, and perform troubleshooting or escalation as needed.
Utilize Charter internal resources, including COIN, Remedy, and JIRA, to create Methods of Procedure (MOP).
Create change tickets and make changes to provisioning on the following vendor optical platforms:
Cisco, Infinera, Fujitsu, Nokia, and Ciena.
Assist on and resolve break/fix issues.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
1 year of experience in optical networking including using DWDM, SONET, ROADM, and fiber optic characteristic; with Cisco, Ciena/Nortel, or Infinera systems and technologies; writing detailed Methods of Procedure (MOP) and technical documentation; and, using networking protocols, including IPv4 and IPv6.
Salary depends on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $78,900Remote work is permitted 2 days per week.
