Building Services Custodian - Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARYThe Custodian performs unskilled/semi-skilled custodial duties necessary for the upkeep of City buildings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe listed examples of work are not intended to be all-inclusive.
They may be modified with additions, deletions, or changes as necessary.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerforms general cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing furniture.
Empties trash containers and picks up debris.
Washes glass surfaces that may include windows (interior & exterior), doors, and desktops.
Operates floor buffer, auto scrubber, vacuum, and carpet cleaning equipment.
Informs supervisor of hazardous and unsafe conditions of City buildings.
Sets-up various City facilities for meetings, which includes, setting up tables and chairs, and assisting with audio/visual equipment as specified by room set-up request.
Uses city vehicles to pick up/drop off supplies and runs errands as requested by City officials, management staff, and supervisor.
Ensures building security by checking to see all doors are locked and the building is clear each night through visual inspection.
Also, notifies supervisor of any lights or locks that need to be replaced or repaired.
Dusts the outside of air conditioning and heating vents.
Conducts facility inspections with supervisor to ensure level of service agreements are being met by staff and contractors.
Responds to calls for bloodborne cleanup.
Responds to emergency clean up calls.
Conducts other related duties as assigned.
Other Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponds to requests such as hanging pictures, moving furniture, or replacing light bulbs.
Shovels snow and applies ice-melt to City walkways and corridors.
PREPARATION AND TRAININGEducation:
High School education or GED preferredWork
Experience:
1 year experience in janitorial and building maintenanceCertifications and/or Licensures:

Valid Colorado driver's license and a clear or acceptable MVR, requiredAn equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.

Mechanical - Basic skills required to operate a floor buffing machine, auto scrubber, carpet cleaning equipment and vacuum cleaners.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork is performed inside City facilities and occasionally on the surrounding grounds (outside).
Works near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and various chemicals, some of which may be toxic.
The employee is exposed to various conditions including wet, hot, and cold conditions.
HOURLY RATE$15.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
