Surgical Technologist
Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room and provide the necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies to adequately complete surgical procedures Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members Prevent surgical site infections by adhering to the principles of asepsis while maintaining a sterile field Serve as a patient advocate to ensure safe patient care Prevent retained foreign objects by performing appropriate surgical counts Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures Communicate with surgical team to ensure quality patient care Assist in post-procedure cleaning and preparing the operating room for the next procedure Actively participate in team meetings, trainings, and daily safety huddles Demonstrate fiscal responsibility QualificationsSurgical Technologist Requirements:
Graduate of an accreditedSurgicalTechnology program Current BLS certification Current DORA registration Preferred (but not required):
ASC experience 1 year experience as aSurgical Technologist NBSTSA Surgical Technology Certification Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Physically demanding, high-stress environment Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions Pushing and pulling heavy objects Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patientsandequipment Manual and finger dexterity Hand eye coordination Standing and walking for extensive periods of time Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50lbs Corrected vision and hearing to within normal range Working irregular hours #J-18808-Ljbffr Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Surgeries Emergency Departments Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Basic Cardiac Life Support Intensive Care Unit Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
