Job Description
LabCorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Englewood, CO. This role works in a high volume, production based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.
Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday from 12:
00 AM to 8:
30am. Holidays and over time as required.
Job Duties/
Responsibilities:
This is a multi-discipline position:
sample splitting/sorting and data entry.
Prepares laboratory specimens for designated departments/locations prior to laboratory analysis and testing and routes specimens by type to various staging areas.
Performs all paperwork, non-technical procedures required to process and submit specimens.
Assigns specific computer-generated identification numbers, checks for accuracy and records all items processed.
Operates data entry terminals and automated data systems, follows standard sequences/coding when entering data and corrects, edits, and/or verifies data entered automated systems.
Must be able to perform eSIS audits to resolve any outstanding problems
Requirements:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred
Basic computer knowledge and ability to pass a data entry test
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
Strong attention to detail
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Ability to accurately identify specimens
Comfortability with handling biological specimens
Pay range :
$18 - $20.00 per hour with a 3rd shift differential.
