Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
The DISH Product Management team is responsible for the creation and introduction of cutting-edge consumer television products and features, such as the Hopper 3, PrimeTime Anytime, AutoHop, the 4K Joey, the HopperGO, and the DISH Anywhere online and mobile video platform. We are looking for dynamic, intelligent, high-energy individuals to join this team, people who will help shape our mission to offer the most innovative products with the best consumer experience.
As a Product Manager you will be responsible for the product roadmap, user experience, and ultimate success of the Hopper platform. This role is inherently cross-functional: you will work closely with the engineering, design, marketing, legal, customer service, outside vendors, IT, and executive teams to launch and maintain advanced products and features.
We are looking for a high-energy, strategic, and detail-oriented individual with exceptional product management and leadership skills to lead a team that spearheads product initiatives across organizational boundaries to achieve business goals.
A successful candidate will be highly analytical, effectively communicative, resourceful, customer-focused, team-oriented, business minded, and will have an ability to lead a team under time constraints to meet deadlines.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Lead a team of various junior and senior level Product personnel in an ever-changing technological landscape.
Manage the product lifecycle of DISH's Hopper Set-Top Boxes (STB), including their definition, creation, budget, launch and end-of-life.
Analyze marketing and research data to design and develop products that meet customer needs.
Work with technical teams to resolve technical and performance issues, conduct roadmap planning, and adjust resource allocations for projects.
Partner with key stakeholders to define the product vision, strategy, roadmap and supporting metrics required to deliver and enhance a best in class 10-foot customer experience.
Own the product definition and detailed product requirements documentation, defining project goals, execution, risk analysis, and release cycle. Build, automate, and analyze product metrics dashboards and reports.
Skills - Experience and Requirements:
A successful Product Manager will have the following:
Master's degree, preferable MBA, and 3
years of product management, development, engineering, or marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a self-starter with high-energy to independently drive projects toward completion, with ability to work well under pressure and execute aggressive deadlines under changing business dynamics.
An understanding of how software is developed, how APIs work, and the ability to craft a compelling user story.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, strong written and verbal skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate new ideas with internal and external partners; must be passionate about technology and understand the strategic and technical possibilities for the future of DISH Network's video offerings.
