Summary:
Assists the project manager in developing project plans and schedules for IT infrastructure projects. Participates in or develops mechanisms for establishing, monitoring and integrating project elements, product configuration and communications concerning change management processes and decisions. Coordinates the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project and team, finance, planning, scheduling and line management. Uses trend, earned value and variance analyses and risk assessments to develop plans or to recommend change. Maintains work statements, cost and schedule baselines. Performs project close-out and documents lessons learned. Maintains and distributes weekly project status reports.
Essential Duties:
Creates project plans in coordination with the project manager.
Maintains project status reports for weekly distribution to management and stakeholders.
Maintains and tracks project information using the appropriate time reporting, project planning, and financial applications.
Tracks all costs associated with projects and assists the project manager to ensure adherence to project budget.
Provides in-depth analysis of project, culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.
Education/
Experience:
Degree in a related field of study and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, and concepts.
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems referring to established precedents and policies.
Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Participates in determining objectives of assignment; plans, schedules, and arranges own activities to accomplish those objectives.
Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives typically have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
