Product Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Charter is looking for a Product Owner to join our Video Platforms product group. This position will lead product development initiatives for Charter's Video On Demand (VOD) services, with a focus on developing and maintaining a cross-functional backlog to drive development that will meet evolving customer needs and business opportunities. In collaboration with Marketing, Operations, IT, and Engineering, the Product Owner will execute approved plans to deliver an industry leading VOD customer experience.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Deeply understands industry best practices in product development process specific to the Cable or telecommunications space and translate appropriate steps for unique organization and market position.
Informs and assists with gathering information to translate high-level business goals and stakeholder input into an actionable backlog with appropriate documentation.
Supports the development and communication of Product Strategies dependent on new services/features to drive financial results.
Works with engineering, product management peers, marketing stakeholders and key market areas on implementing strategy.
Leads product launches and enhancements of products across Charter's service and application portfolio, including working cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing and Operations divisions within Charter.
Ensures communication with all stakeholders is being managed effectively.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Product Management and/or Product Owner Experience
Demonstrated proficiency with product development tools
Familiarity with VOD and/or streaming video products
Ability and eagerness to learn from a new environment and make an impact quickly
Ability to manage and foster change
Ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in order to achieve business goals and results
Ability to listen to multiple points of view and synthesize against goals for recommendations
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks

Education
BA/BS degree in the telecommunications field or operational/process optimization

Experience in Cable, Telecommunications, advertising or video services
Experience with Video On Demand infrastructure, including ingest, workflow management, storage and delivery of QAM and IP VOD assets
Experience working with content distribution networks
Familiarity with industry VOD metadata standards, including ADI 1.1 and 3.0
Experience with video consumption reporting, including Veramatrix and Rentrak
WORKING CONDITIONS
