Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar is seeking a Staff Program Manager at our Denver location to support Channel Launch activities for DISH. This individual will work first hand with the latest technology in satellite Digital Broadcasting Systems. This individual will be expected to:
Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications and schedules.
Coordinate interdepartmental functions in order to minimize delays.
Meet with cross functional teams on a regular basis to review statuses and plan future actions.
Candidates must be adept at change management and problem solving, possess strong organizational skills and have an attention to detail, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Proactively identify and partner with a diverse, cross functional team to resolve process problems related to DISH content removal.
Manage day-to-day operational scope of DISH content removal, creating detailed reports and ensuring all teams are on board with proper information and work being complete to manage requests. (On call work and some evening, weekend, and holiday will be necessary on occasion)
Support work intake process, may drive projects and development initiatives by working with a cross functional team of impacted partners.
Partner with offsite operation teams to schedule and track deliverables, project risks, and statuses.
Exercises superb follow-up and follow through skills in all facets of program management to drive problems to resolution quickly
Effectively interface with technical personnel and learn the technical flow of complex systems
Work independently to achieve high performance and produce the desired results
Provide professional and tailored communications and updates specific to the audience being addressed.
Create and/or update current process documentation.
Extreme attention to details regarding data management.
Skills - Experience and Requirements
The successful Senior Program Manager will have:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, or BS in related technical field, or equivalent amount of education and experience
At least 5 years of demonstrated operational experience managing systems integration projects.
At least 5 years of experience managing programs/projects in one or more of the following areas: Satellite or Cable TV, Application or Database Software Development, or Conditional Access Software.
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Preferable skills and
Experience:
Experience managing software development or systems integration projects.
Strong technical, analytical, organizational and communication skills are essential.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage projects spanning multiple geographic regions (international projects).
