Program Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager of Testing & Deployment has end-to-end responsibility for management and execution of one or more Operational Readiness Testing efforts in the Testing & Development team. This individual will plays an active role in determining launch-readiness.
The Testing & Deployment (T&D) team is responsible for validating the end-to-end functionality and Operational Readiness of new product and/or platform enhancements prior to launch, to ensure the Enterprise business is ready to support it.
The Testing & Deployment team ensures processes and product capabilities can be supported by partnering directly with the operational teams responsible for ordering, designing, configuring, installing, and supporting the solutions. Operational teams use a variety of platforms to support the order creation and fulfillment tasks, including Salesforce.com and enterprise billing platforms.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform operational impact assessments based on new product and/or platform requirements.
Design a test strategy, scope, approach and test plan based on the impact assessment.
Provide a level-of-effort (LOE) and a project schedule for the execution of the test plan
Manage the test preparation, including the readiness of test locations, hardware, product installations and the supporting operational SME's/ teams.
Execute and maintain the test plan.
Document and manage issues and defects identified during testing.
Drive issue analysis and resolution.
Report progress and status throughout the test planning and execution phases, to a variety of stakeholders, including executive management, PMO and the operational working team supporting the testing effort.
Validate and provide input to documentation and training content.
Create Final Reports and hand-off documentation upon completion of the testing effort.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Versatile leader with proven knowledge of cable and/ or telecommunications products, solutions and architectures.
Ability to generate and maintain high-quality documents, including proposals, presentations, reports, project schedules, meeting notes, and testing artifacts.
Manages to published schedules, deadlines and action items; follows-through, and adapts as needed.
Delivers on commitments; offers mitigation strategies when hurdles are encountered.
Enjoys ongoing learning of new product features, architecture solutions and team structures.
Ability to innovate, improvise, adapt and respond with agility and flexibility to changes in status or priority.
Strong networking skills; enjoys identifying and working with large groups of stakeholders at all levels in the organization and builds strong relationships with partner teams and internal customers.
Ability to understand workflows, platform & system diagrams, and network architecture designs in sufficient level of detail, in order to assess impacts, design test approaches, and perform defect/ issues analysis.
Ability to foster an environment of teamwork, transparency and accountability
Ability to create and maintain documents using applications like MS Word, Excel, Power-point, MS Project, MS-Access and Visio
Education
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Related Work Experience
5
years testing and development experience.
Hands-on testing experience in a technology/ QA, UAT or systems integration role.
Experience with the development of test schedules, procedures, plans, and results documentation.
Experience with managing project schedules.
Knowledge of the sale-to-cash operational processes associated with ordering and deploying services.
Experience with software/system development and deployment life cycles, including waterfall and agile methodologies.
Knowledge of/ experience with Salesforce.com implementations a plus
Cable and/or Telecommunications background, in an engineering, operations, or product leadership capacity.
